TRAVELLING the main road between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the poverty of the local people quickly became apparent. They lived in shanty villages along the side of dusty road under the coconut trees, each house having its own roadside market stall.

Although it was still early morning, there was a lot of activity with people delivering produce on their bicycles to be sold. I made a couple of stops including one where I ate spiders for breakfast.
