IT IS a mild mid-winter's day in Brisbane. The wetlands at Nudgee Beach create an abundance of colour under the mangroves as I follow the boardwalk. It is quiet here with about another eight weeks before the migratory birds start arriving from the northern hemisphere. At this time of year the plants grow very well in preparation for the onslaught of the migrations. |
