A BRILLIANTLY fine day quickly ebbed into a very dark moonless night. The wind had completely died down by the time I reached Ewan Maddock Dam.
With just a faint glow coming from the distant lights of Brisbane over the other side of the lake, I set up the tripod and started a one hour exposure before retreating into the nearby forest to prevent any camera shake.
An hour later I returned. The night was still perfectly still and the lake very smooth allowing the stars to almost perfectly reflect in the black water.
