A TRAIL passes the western side of the Ewan Maddock Dam. It was very humid under the cover of the mostly gum forest with some wetland forest and the occasional pocket of rainforest. There is only the occasional view of the lake through the thick undergrowth. The best views across the lake are from two causeways across a couple of the inlets.
There were quite a few goannas scurrying up trees and a chorus of birds hidden high in the canopy. The trail is shared by walkers, cyclists and horses. There were a few cyclists and the occasional jogger, but otherwise it was very quiet today.
