TORRENTIAL rain had fallen overnight around the Tweed, causing localised flooding. Hiking was completely out of the question today, so we headed across the mountains to Nimbin.
Nimbin is a laid back small town set in rolling hills of lush vegetation. It is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city life where everything revolves around money and success. This area seemed completely cut off from that, the town was geared up for tourism to attract curious visitors, and for the alternative lifestyle that came from the Age of Aquarius movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
Sadly this means there is a strong drug culture here. Every second shop sells merchandise made from drugs or drug paraphernalia. This gives the town the reputation of being Australia's drug capital. This is the small remote town that the law forgot.
