RETURNING from the shores of Lake Baikal I did some further exploration of Irkutsk with a Dutch lady catching the train towards Ulaanbaatar tonight.

Here I am outside Irkutsk Station in my final hours of freedom before catching the train to Moscow - 5153 kilometres and five timezones away.
