ON MY first outing since returning from my North Asia trip, I headed south to one of my favourite spots on the Gold Coast - Burleigh Head. It was great to once more be looking over the bright blue waters of the South Pacific Ocean.
This time the coast track was open, so I followed it around the head to Tallebudgera Creek. The sealed track was almost level despite the very steep terrain and warning of falling rocks. A whale was froliking about a kilometre out to sea, heading southward back to Antarctica following the breeding season around Hervey Bay.
Upon reaching the end of the track I crossed the bridge and headed up Tallebudgera Creek as far as I could to get a good sunset, but didn't get very far. I returned around the coast track to near the end where I had this spectacular view of the Gold Coast high rises above the breaking waves near the end of the track.
