FOLLOWING a midday spring tide I arrived in Deception Bay in the late afternoon to explore some of the mangroves. Streams of water from the tide were still draining out of the wetlands over the mass of protruding root stems.
There were some very interesting rock formation patterns cut into the exposed sandstone. The alien circular formations reminded me of the strange crop circles seen around the world, and of the enormous patterns carved in the soil in Peru. It is believed these patterns come from thousands of years of tidal motion.
