HAVING completed the hike around Moreton Island, I relaxed during the morning before packing up and heading to this shelter to await the the ferry to return to the big smoke of Brisbane.
The pristine island gradually faded in the distance, with the strong yellow line of the beach separating the dark green forest from the turquoise water disappearing below the horizon before reaching the busy port in the entrance of the Brisbane River. Several ships were being loaded with containers as we headed past to our destination.
