WELL IT'S good morning from the summit of Cerro Campanario. Bariloche is way over there somewhere and a beautiful view over the lakes all around us. There's some fresh snow over there from the rain we had yesterday. The weather is very clear thanks to the rain and there's the summit over there. We are over 1000 metres above sea level. A few of us have walked up here. There is also a chairlift as well, but I thought I'd be one of the fit ones today and also in the early group.

Most of the others from our group are actually coming up later today as they have decided to sleep in a bit. It is an absolutely beautiful view with some nice chalet houses down there. It is an amazing place here in Argentina in amongst the Andes. Fortunately, today has dawned beautifully fine, so I'm spending the morning exploring this mountain. It is pretty cold up here. They are expecting a high of 12 degrees today so it's very cold. This afternoon I will be exploring more of the historic city. Anyway, I'm going to enjoy a bit more of the view up here. The colours are absolutely spectacular.

I've found this other lookout on the other side of the tower here. As you can see there is a spectacular view around the lake and spectacular mountains rising above them. When I get back down the mountain I'm going to find somewhere to walk along the side of the lake as it's really beautiful. It is really cold up here. We are at 1040 metres above sea level. Given it's going to reach a high of 12 degrees in the city today it will only get up to 10 degrees here because you lose 6 degrees for every 1000 metres, and not to mention the wind chill. That's quite a lot at the moment. I'm going to head down the hill and start exploring some of the lake.

Alrighty I've made it back onto Bariloche Beach now, and where I was is way over there. It is very windy here on the lake. There's a surf lifesaving hut here but obviously no surfing because it is too cold. One thing I've noticed since coming up the Antarctic Peninsula is the sun is a lot higher. We're getting into autumn and winter is approaching. As we are heading north the sun is getting higher each day. It is just after midday at the highest point of the sun. It is quite a lot higher than it has been. I remember down at the Antarctic Peninsula it was more than half way down to the horizon. It is good to be seeing more sun as we head further north.
