Well good morning friends. Today I'm heading up Mount Coot-tha. There's a few walkways under the hills. I used to explore this area when I first moved here to Brisbane back in 1997. It's quite different now. This path never used to be here. Let's go and explore what it's like. I've not been here on these walkways for over 20 years. I have been to the lookout at the top a few times, but only by road. Today I thought I'd do a bit of exploring. Have a look around the tracks I used to explore when I first moved over here. It's going to be a warm day today. It's the start of a week long heatwave apparently, but today shouldn't be too bad only getting up to 32 or 33 degrees. So that should be fairly manageable. So I'm heading to the start of the main track now.

There's quite a myriad of tracks through here. The (Mount Coot-tha) lookout is up here. So I'm looking at going through these treks through here - I'm not sure where where we are going to go yet. There's a lot of tracks up there (the ridge) and I definitely won't be able to get them all done today, so I'm probably going to be back. There's even tracks going right up into here into the national park as well.

As you can see the summer rain hasn't come yet, so the creek is very dry.

We've come all the way from here (J.C Slaughter Falls) up to here to the lookout, then along here (the ridge) and we're here now (Gold Mine Picnic Area). From here we'll head a bit further around before cutting back along the main firebreak back to J C Slaughter Falls.
