STARTING at the Bald Hills bridge across South Pine River, rain begins to fall as I pass the beautiful jacarandas in full bloom along the main road before turning off heading through a residential area towards Canterbury Park along the riverbank. Upon reaching the park I follow the path through the lush green grass and trees passing a few sports fields before it reaches the side of the river. The rain has eased off, but now falls steadily again as the sun sets with hardly a flicker of light over the distant ranges the river drains from.
After watching the almost non-existent sunset I continue along the path now going through Barungwarra Bushland Reserve through mangroves and wetland forest for a few minutes before reaching the Barungwarra boat ramp, where I watch the light dim over the river.
