STARTING from Tukuwompa Park, I cross a causeway embankment and descend to the waters edge passing below the peninsula of Bullocky Rest where people are having their afternoon barbeques. The water gently laps against the foreshore as I head around the peninsula and enter the forest at the end of the park.

From here I follow the Forgan Cove trail weaving its way around a larger peninsula passing numerous small bays and headlands as the sun sinks low between the clouds illuminating the lush vegetation with tones of gold. The track winds its way around one particularly big and deep gully where a small stream once flowed before the lake was formed.

Eventually I reach the start of Forgan Cove where I find a few side tracks leading to the foreshore, from where I watch the sun dramatically sinking from the clouds behind the triangular peak of Mount Samson sending out brilliant rays of light from the gaps in the clouds.

The sky quickly darkens once the sun sets, so I quickly head to the end of the track at the back of Forgan Cove.
