THE SKY dawns clear after a couple of days' rain which has substantially swollen the normally placid Brisbane River but fortunately not high enough to burst its banks.
I start from Fortitude Valley to the New Farm Riverwalk which I follow upstream to its end before returning towards the city. I stop at the newly redeveloped Howard Smith Wharves before continuing upstream passing the city's financial district of glassy towers eventually reaching the Gardens Point Botanical Gardens. After exploring the gardens, I continue heading upstream to Queen Street to explore the city centre before heading through Fortitude Valley and back, discovering new pockets of the city I have not explored before.
