PARKING in the middle of Wamuran Village, I follow the wide paved track up Campbell's Pocket Road. This is the main road heading up to the Mount Mee Plateau. I pass numerous friendly locals on their morning walks as I start heading up the valley.

After a few minutes of hiking through a residential area, the track and road quickly descended through gum forest to cross Waraba Creek, a major tributary of the Caboolture River. Once across the other side of creek, the residential areas had given way to green acreage farmland with the Mount Mee Plateau towering in the distance.

The paved track continued following the road for another two kilometres before narrowing. I was able to continue following the side of the road safely up to as far as Basin Road. From here Campbell's Pocket Road began its long winding ascent towards the top of the plateau, and Basin Road headed into Wamuran Basin followign the headwaters of Waraba Creek towards Delaney's Creek State Forest. I decided I would explore the basin from here up to the plateau another day and returned along the road and path back towards Wamuran.

Upon returning to Wamuran, I reached the end of the road at D'Aguilar Highway and crossed it to the other side to where the Caboolture to Wamuran rail trail began. It seemed to be very recently built and in great condition, so decided I would hike this section on another trip in the near future.
