WELL hello friends. Today I'm coming from Mount Gravatt which is 187 metres high. I've just come down off the summit. It's a bit crowded at the top so I thought I would do my video down here. I'm now following the track back to the bottom of the hill.

It's been a very peaceful walk this morning up to the top. It's quite a nice little spot here in the gum forest. It's a fine day today with hardly a cloud in the sky and it is quite warm as well, not bad for the middle of winter. I'm just exploring and heading back down. In my head I have music playing as I usually do. At the moment I have Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto which is a piece I'm listening to quite a bit lately and analysing it. It is quite amazing what goes on in there. It is a nice piece to listen to in my head as I go through the bush. There's a few steps here.

It's interesting I was watching a video on the top songs going from January 1950 to about July last year. It's really interesting to see how music has evolved in recent decades and particularly with all the new technology now instead of buying expensive albums everyone is just downloading stuff from podcasts etc. and downloading so much more than they used to before the turn of this century when people used to buy music only occasionally but would really listen to it and get used to it where now everyone is just downloading stuff in bulk and the algorithms encouraging very simplified autotune and drumbeats with almost no harmony with only three or four chords in it.

It's really gone very dumbed down in what music is compared to what it used to be. Unfortunately that's what the algorithms are after because that's what people are downloading so that's why music has really dropped in quality over the past decade or two.

That being said there is some really good stuff out there and I keep finding some really amazing stuff from independent musicians. It is a bit hard to find but it is findable. It's a shame that social media thing has made music really dumbed down these days. Anyway I'm going to go back to listening to Rachmaninoff in my head. Fortunately I have a good memory for music, even very complex stuff like that whilst I enjoy this bushwalk. It is very nice through here.

Thanks friends for joining with me again today and I will catch you somewhere else next time. Ciao for now.
