Hello friends. Today I'm coming from the South Pine River in a section I've not been to in a long time and especially not since the big floods we had a year and a half ago. There is quite a bit of evidence of that. It looks like down here they've landscaped it a bit and set up some flood deterrents and barriers so it's interesting seeing all of that.

I'm just doing a fairly short walk again today exploring the river and also testing out my new lens, a Sigma 24 to 105mm. It is going really well. In the past I had a Canon lens of the same size 24 to 105mm. That died out about a year ago having worn out. It has been really hard to get hold of new lenses for the DSLRs. In the last couple of trips I've been using my 16 to 35mm lens. 35mm is about the same as our eyesight and 16mm is really wide and does get a little distorted. I thought I'd just get a Sigma one this time because the Canon ones are still not available and also the Sigma ones are quite a bit cheaper as well for the same quality or sometimes even better. I've therefore gone for a Sigma this time and seeing how it works out.

With a big trip coming up I want to have everything properly tested before heading off so today is a perfect day for that. It is a little cold today and has been quite cold this whole weekend but I am out and about and I've come up here to South Pine River just north of Brisbane to explore the area and test out the new lens.

So that's what I'm up to at the moment. Thanks friends for joining me again today and I shall catch you somewhere else next time. Ciao for now.
