Pineapple farm rainforest

Well good morning friends. Today I'm coming from one of the local creeks not too far from where I live and I'm in the area today so I thought I'd do some exploring. I've not been around here before. It is a really pretty area looking around here. The creek has almost completely dried up now with the dry season but hopefully some rain will start falling fairly soon. I'm just exploring it today.

This is actually part of an old pineapple farm which has been around here for a very long time. In the 1970s most of the land surrounding it became a subdivision and all these houses were built. For some reason though this farm just stayed here. I think it was because it was owned by a large not for profit organisation with all its tax breaks and stuff so they don't pay rates. They used to keep this farm going and this old fellow ran it and he was quite a character in this local area. The farm closed down a couple of years ago when he retired and all this land sold off as a residential area and now a lot of houses have been built. These are mostly pokey townhouses and small two storey grey houses and nothing too exciting was built here. The pineapple farm is no more but fortunately this beautiful little rainforest area is still intact. Today I'm just exploring it.

Anyway you've seen this live diary go up. As of tomorrow you are going to see all these new daily diaries being posted. These are all old videoes of diaries I've done over the past year and a half but never got around to producing these videos because they took too long to edit. Fortunately though the new format I've been using in the Northern Territory trip worked out really well and I am able to get videos up quickly now. There are a hundred and fifty odd videos from local trips and a couple of interstate trips I did over fairly recent times. You'll start seeing them go up and you'll notice they will go up as 2021-2022 old videos or travel diaries, so you'll be able to distinguish them from the new ones that are going up which will go into the new travel diaries folder in Youtube and also the same in WalkaboutJeff.com. The new ones will link from the homepage and from the diary page whereas the old ones will slot in replacing the old text ones so you'll be able to tell which is which.
