Well good morning friends. Today I'm in the Adelaide Hills. I'm just walking along some road at the moment but I've just joined what's called the Heysen Trail. It is Australia's longest walking track. I'm just going to follow it over the hills to one of the suburbs of Adelaide over the little range here. I'm only on the trail for one day exploring twelve to fifteen kilometres of it. The trail is 1200 kilometres all up, so I'm only doing around one percent of it today. It's awesome being on Australia's longest walking track. It's not the longest trail, but it's the longest walking track. I'm just about to come into Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens. From there it should be all walking track. It is going to be quite interesting again today. Today is overcast with a little bit of drizzle so it will be a nice cool one.

It looks like I've made it to the two hundred kilometre mark. It looks like Cape Jervis (the start of the trail) is two hundred kilometres back in that direction. Flinders Ranges is over a thousand kilometres in that direction. It is quite a long trail this one.

Well friends I've now made it up to the very crowded Mount Lofty summit. From here you can see the city not too far away at all. You can see the sea beyond that. The trail continues further around the mountain towards Athelstone and the trail I followed down Torrens River goes down there to the sea. You can see where I've been in recent days. As you can see it is very crowded here. From here I will continue and head down the hill.

Well friends I've come down off Mount Lofty and have come down several more kilometres exploring and nearly completed a circuit so I can cut across to where I started this morning. I'll call it a day here. This is a little commemoration boulder of the Heysen Trail which was opened in 1993. It is a twelve hundred kilometre long trail. I've only done about one percent of it today. It is quite a fascinating one. This is a similar length to the northern circuit I've been putting together in the South East Queensland Trail. Maybe I need to promote it a bit and see if I can get a similar setup for around South East Queensland. Anyway I'm here at the moment and it's been a really good walk going over the hills and over the top of Mount Lofty. I've been exploring the bushland and some of the vineyard farming areas and the botanical gardens. This has been a very good variety for such a short section of such a long walking track. Thanks friends for joining me today and I'll leave you here and start making my way back towards the city. Thanks for joining me and I'll catch you somewhere else tomorrow. Until then, ciao for now.
