Introduction to today's journey

Today's journey takes me from Battambang to the border into Thailand. Once across we head along the highway into the middle of Bangkok where we settle into a hotel and part ways, but I stay on.

Today's Journey

Leaving Battambang early in the morning, we cross the border into Thailand. A bridge of mountains marks leaving Cambodia as we walk across the border to where cars drive on the other side of the road to confuse everyone.

Once in Thailand, we are greeted with modern smooth roads and technology I have not seen since Japan. We are once more back in a modern country.

In the late afternoon we approach the big smoke of Bangkok, the biggest city I have seen in Asia.

Very slowly passing through Bangkok's Chinatown on the way to our hotel.

Rising to the rooftop garden at the top of the hotel looking across the city centre.

Bangkok is a huge city with high rises stretching out in every direction, a total change from the quietness of Cambodia.

The sun sets and the sky quickly darkens but the city stays very noisy.
