Introduction to today's journey
Today's journey takes me relaxing along the foreshore at Papar before later in the day heading back to Kota Kinabalu for a night flight towards Singapore.

I head out on the beach in the early morning as the calm waters lap against the soft sand. |

Looking across the bay past Kota Kinabalu to the islands I had explored on my first day here. |
 |
The spectacular Mount Kinabalu towers above the hills to the north. Its jagged summits look small from here. The highest summit which we stood upon is the leftmost peak. |
 |
About half a kilometer along the beach I reach a jetty stretching out into the bay towards an island about a kilometre offshore. |
 |
Returning along the beach as the tide continues to come in. It is nearly full now. |

Relaxing at breakfast looking over the water under the unsettled sky. |

A row boat in the distance heads out into the calm water. |
 |
Eventually it returns under sail back to the shore before the tide goes out. |
 |
After a big journey around the top of Borneo, we spend the day relaxing around the pool. |

In the late afternoon we head to the airport and catch another brilliant sunset before heading south westward to Singapore. |
