Introduction to today's journey
Today's journey takes me exploring a bit more of the Sepilok area in the morning before going to Sandakan Airport and flying around Mount Kinabalu back to Kota Kinabalu. From there we head a little further south to Papar where we watch a spectacular sunset at the edge of the tidal flats.

We relax at the eco lodge in the early morning under the huge lush palm trees. |

We head to a nearby botanical garden which was planted just three years ago. The amazing tropical climate here makes this look decades old. |

The path passes through countless varieties of plant from all around the world. |

I discover a bromeliad collection in the South American garden. |

We return to our accommodation and check out in the early afternoon before returning to Sandakan. |

From Sandakan we fly around the top of the island back to Kota Kinabalu. |

We eventually land in Kota Kinabalu and head a little south to the town of Papar where we are staying at a resort on the coast. Here we experience a spectacular sunset. |
