Introduction to today's journey
Today's journey takes me back to Kilimanjaro Airport where I fly to Nairobi Airport, then onto Entebbe Airport. I am taken into Kampala where I am dropped off at a hotel only to discover I've been relocated to another hotel. Fortunately it doesn't take long to settle in where I meet my next tour group.

Departing Marangu in the early morning, I take a taxi around the mountain along the long road back towards the airport. |

Approaching the airport in Aruba. I'm happy to not be walking today after the intense climb up the mountain. |

The mountain is obscurred by cloud as the sun creeps up in the sky. The cloud is a good three kilometres overhead and encircles the mountain, so there is still a good chance I'll be able to see it. |

Catching the little airplane to head back to Nairobi. My legs are very stiff from the trek. |

The plane takes off rising above the cloud and sure enough the summit stands well above us as we continue ascending. It's amazing to believe I stood atop this mountain just two days ago. |
