Introduction to today's journey

Today's journey starts in my home city Brisbane, Australia, and crosses the South Pacific Ocean towards South America. I briefly stop in Auckland, New Zealand, then start the long journey across the loneliest stretch of ocean on the planet before eventually landing in Santiago, Chile.

Large banks of cloud build over the Tasman Sea to slowly approach New Zealand bringing rain in a few days.

In Auckland Airport for a couple of hours with the plane outside soon to board.

Crossing the International Date Line back into yesterday evening as we fly across the Pacific Ocean towards Santiago.

Having crossed the loneliest section of ocean where old satellites are crashed into the ocean, we approach the South American coastline in the late morning.

Landed, through customs and now relaxing in the hotel across the road from Santiago Airport. It is about 3:00 in the afternoon about 10 hours time difference from home, so I'm ready to sleep now.
