Introduction to today's journey

Today's journey explores the city centre of the world's southernmost city, Ushuaia. I then pack up and check out to attend a briefing before boarding the ship upon which I will be based over the next two weeks on an expedition tour to Antarctica. Once boarded, the ship follows the Beagle Channel towards its mouth at Cape Horn.

The city reflects through the still waters of the foreshore of the Beagle Channel. The mountains shelter the city from the prevailing winds of the ferocious 50s.
