SEVERAL weeks have passed since I last explored Chermside Hills. I decided to return to the entrance and follow the track in the opposite direction. The track descended to a junction where I decided to go off the main track heading into a gully where a bridge crossed a small creek. Once across the creek I continued following the track passing a large water storage tank on top of the hill, no doubt supplying water to the surrounding estates. Once past the tank, the track continued over another hill before descending and crossing a road into the Raven Steet Reserve. The reserve had a circuit track similar to the one at Chermside Hills. There were no maps or names of the tracks, and the forest was very similar open eucaplytus with grass trees as I had found on Chermside Hills. I followed the circuit clockwise winding its way around the hills before returning to where I had started. From here I returned along the ridge passing the water tank and descending to the creek and returning to the entrance where I had started. |
