Well greetings friends. Hello from Auckland, New Zealand. I just flew over today. I finally got my passport renewed and decided to explore outside Australia. The best place to come to is back here in New Zealand. I've now arrived here in Auckland. I used to live here for about a year twenty nine years ago and it looks very different now. I can hardly recognise the place and obviously I was a very different person back then. It is very interesting coming back here to see what it looks like. I'm out here on Hobson Wharf watching the beautiful sunset just behind me there. Just behind me here is the city centre with all its new buildings. The really tall sharp one over there is the skytower which was built the year I was living here. I did go up it back in 1999 but will go up it again sometime on this trip.
Anyway I'm back here in Auckland and it is a really quiet time of the year with the summer tourists gone now and the mountains down south hasn't got much snow on them yet so the skiing won't start for a while, so I thought whilst I'm here in Auckland this time around I'll be doing most of the touristy things. It is usually quite busy but at this time of year hopefully they will be fairly quiet. That's what I'm aiming to do this trip, do some of the touristy things. Interestingly in the year I lived here I never did most of the touristy things at all, so I'm making up for time lost.
