Hello friends. Today I'm coming from the Swan River in Perth. You can just see the city behind me there. Today I'm just hiking along this trail here seen on either side of me. It's a trail running all the way from Fremantle into Perth City which is about 25 to 26 kilometres long. I'm nearly two thirds of the way along it now. That's the city over there where I'm heading.
It is a really interesting walk along the Swan River. It initially started as a fairly narrow channel coming out of Fremantle then going around Walter Point it has expanded into this huge inlet. It's very nice here. The Swan River is named after the black swans which you may be able to see down there. The river is full of them. It has been a very nice walk passing through some very nice residential areas, going through some bush and a lot of parkland. There's a lot of variety on this track. From here I've got to head around these points and then follow the causeway straight into the city and I'll be there.
Tomorrow I'll be continuing upstream from the city, and in the distance, you can't see from here, but I'm heading towards the Perth Hills a long way away hopefully getting there the day after. I'm just working my way inland along the river. Today has been a very pleasant day at around 27 degrees which is really good because this is going to be the longest hike I'm doing in this trip. It's about 26 kilometres so quite a long way but a pleasant day for it.
Thanks friends for joining me and I'm going to catch you somewhere else in Perth tomorrow. Until then, ciao for now.
