AT THE bottom of the Takaka Hill, the Riwaka River comes out of a dark cave under the mountain. About a hundred metres downstream the river runs into Crystal Pool, a very cold deep turquoise pool set in the bush covered marble. The river then continues to flow downstream towards the coast.
