THE RETURN trip from Slipping Sands was cold and windy despite the sun shining brightly. Winter has finally arrived. The trip back to the mainland consisted of tightly weaving through the channels framed by mangroves. Fortunately the tide was in so there was almost no risk of running aground today. The route passed Jacob's Well, the first outpost of civilisation in this unspoilt cluster of islands. |
