THERE were quite a few people congregated at the forestry lookout at the top of Wild Horse Mountain to watch the sun set over the Glasshouse Mountains and the dark hazy valleys beneath them.
The sun slowly sank in the sky of gold between Mount Ngungun to the right and Crookneck to the left, with the larger Mount Beerwah further behind. The warmth of the day was quickly replaced with a breeze with quite a chill to it bringing on the cold night.
Across the base of the mountain the perpetual stream of traffic flowed snakelike between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
