THE RAIN had just cleared yet the grey clouds lingered. Shrouds of mist still covered the distant hills. Laminar ripples from what had been the wind bringing the rain eased lethargically across Lake Samsonvale.
Above the silver surface of the lake stood the blackened remains of the trees that once grew here during the 10 year drought when the water levels were much lower.
