THE OLD Melbourne Gaol had long closed and converted to a museum, some of the cells containing the plaster casts of the heads of those who had been executed over the years, including the infamous Ned Kelly.
As part of the tour I did "The Watchhouse Experience" where myself and a group of other random tourists were marshalled into the watchhouse to be locked up and have our mugshots taken. Ironically this occurred on the day after I had been secretly gold panning at Sovereign Hill without a prospecting licence.
This is my second mugshot. My first mugshot had been taken in Christchurch in 2007. Thankfully like last time I had managed to escape, making it to Tullamarine Airport by mid afternoon catching a plane back to the safety of my home.
