A COLD polar blast affecting much of Australasia reached Brisbane overnight. Although cold and windy, the front had completely cleared away the clouds leaving the sky crystal clear for the start of the winter beach shooting before the bushfires begin.
I headed down to Coolangatta to explore the mouth of the Tweed Heads and the headlands of Point Danger. The views across the water to the Gold Coast City around 25 kilometres away were as clear as I have ever seen them despite the low mid winter sun directly behind them. The water too was crystal clear with just a gentle ocean swell breaking on the beaches today despite the wintry wind.
