HAVING discovered it is possible to hike from the top of the Sunshine Coast to the bottom of the Gold Coast, today I began the first of what will be a number of daywalks over the next year or so.
Starting at the Noosa River in Tewantin, I followed the start of the 96km long Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway before diverting to the mouth of the Noosa River (where I am standing looking over Noosa Beach, then following the Noosa Headlands Coast Trail to Sunshine Beach at the top of the Sunshine Coast.
Whilst hiking over the Noosa Headlands Queensland's largest earthquake in almost a century struck nearly 200km away off the coast of Frazer Island. Although the 5.7 quake was felt from as far away as the Gold Coast, I didn't feel it.
