A COLD cloudless sunrise followed the bright moonlit night at the mouth of the Maroochy River.
The tide was completely out leaving small pools and channels in the hard sand shaped earlier by the waves.
I followed the beach southward as the sun rose, following the track over Alexandra Headland and following Mooloolaba Beach across to the end of the breakwater at the mouth of the Mooloola River to watch the returning tide swiftly fill the river channel.
