RETURNING to Point Lookout, I started out well before sunrise seeing the rare Zodiacal light crossing the ecliptic and a dead whale on the beach.
As the sky lightened, a fast moving bank of cirrus cloud brought by the jet stream covered the horizon to create some dramatic lighting effects as the sun rose.
Fortunately the cloud became thick enough to be not too much of a disturbance with the sun directly ahead of me for the remainder of the morning heading up the beach eventually reaching the rocky headlands of Point Lookout.
