I START at Mount Nebo Village in the middle afternoon, following the walking track winding above the road heading along the top of the range. The walking track ends where Forestry Road turns off. I follow this obscure narrow road to where it rejoins the main road before returning.

From Mount Nebo Village, I head up the road to just past where I left off parking at Manorina from where I follow the Morelia Track through dense schlerophyll forest gradually rising below the base of the ridge winding its way around spurs and gullies.

Eventually the track joins Mount Nebo Break which runs along the top of the ridge. To the left is the summit of Mount Nebo just a hundred metres away. To the right, the main track rises a little to the Mount Nebo Lookout. I head up to the lookout for views through a large hole in the vegetation across Samford Valley and the Moreton Bay Region, with clear views out to the Redcliffe Peninsula and Moreton and Bribie Islands visible despite the overcast conditions.

After resting here for a while, I follow the Mount Nebo Break up to the summit. The surrounding forest does not have any gaps for views which explains why the main track just goes to the lookout. After briefly stopping here, I continue following the break along the top of the range, undulating but mostly descending for about half an hour before I return to the road. I follow the road for a short distance before seeing the Dundas Road carpark, then return along the road passing the Mount Nebo Break entrance and continue descending for another ten minutes before returning to Manorina.

From here I head up to and park at the entrance of Dundas Road. Here I pull out my backpack and follow Dundas Road a short distance up the hill to the Mount Nebo dump. Dundas Road continues as a dirt road walking track to the left, so I follow it for about half an hour mostly descending with two short ascents before reaching the Dundas Road Bush Camp. It was very similar to Scrub Road Bush Camp with an open shelter surrounded by three tent sites. This camp is at a four way junction of dirt road walking tracks.

I set up camp and settle in for the night on this dark mostly moonless night.
