AFTER camping overnight at Dundas Road Remote Bush Camp, I set off at sunrise following Goodes Road Track descending along the ridge for over an hour before reaching the junction of Side Break. After exploring the main track a bit further seeing it descends quite steeply, I decide to return to the junction and follow Side Break straight down towards the right branch of England Creek. The firebreak initially descends moderately, but steepens to a straight drop down the hill. Eventually I do reach the bottom where the track moderates before crossing the small stream of England Creek.

The track up the other side of England Creek is a little overgrown, but quickly turns and joins the much better England Creek Road which I follow up towards the next ridge - Joyners Ridge which I had descended three days ago. The track rose moderately towards the saddle, where I stopped at the same fallen log as I had stopped the other day. By now the sky was completely overcast having been fine this morning. Rain was on the way, so I decided to return along the way I came back towards the camp.

After an easy descent along England Creek Road, the climb up Side Break is slow and arduous, but not as slow as I thought - it didn't seem as steep going up as it had done going downhill. The first drops of rain started falling shortly after I reached the junction back onto Goodes Road, but didn't continue.

I followed Goodes Road gently to moderately ascending back to Dundas Road Remote Bush Camp about half an hour before the official 11:00 checkout time (although there had been no sign of any other people here since I had arrived yesterday).

I packed up and left just as the rain started falling. Thick cloud enveloped the area as the rain started falling steadily. I followed Dundas Road the two kilometres back to the main road under the steady rain and occasional cloud fog.
