TODAY I decided on a short hike after such a long one yesterday. I took the train up to Wynnum North Station in the early afternoon and continued where I had left off last time, continuing along Wynnum North Road hiking to as far as the entrance to Fort Lytton. From there I headed back along the road and headed up to the Wynnum Wetlands bird hide. Here I relaxed for a while but didn't linger as there were no birds in view.
From the bird hide, I walked up to the boardwalk passing through the mangroves. The tide was mostly out exposing the roots and mudflats around the mangroves as the boardwalk stood over a metre above them. I followed the boardwalk along its length and took the concrete path along the shore to close the circuit near the birdhide. From there I returned to the station and headed home.
