TRAVELLING by bus I reach Talburpen Point in the mid morning. After exploring the red waters of the high tide lapping the shore, I head inland to Kidd Road Reserve, where I follow the Pick Up Sticks Track through the scrubby forest for a couple of kilometres to its end at the Mudlark Firebreak.
The bush became less scrubby as I crossed the break and followed the winding Black She Oak track under bright summer sunshine. The bush thickened as I approached one of the trailheads, but turned and followed the straight Teviot Break following a fenceline before turning around and following another fenceline passing lifestyle block paddocks. The track undulated over moderate hills and dropped into low valleys, one a little flooded with an overflowing dam further down the gully.
Upon reaching the end of the track, I suddenly reached a new residential estate through which I followed the cul de sac streets before reaching an access path to an older road passing more lifestyle farms. I continued following this road for about two kilometres before crossing the busy Mount Cotton Road and following Wuduru Road, California Creek Road and Redland-Beenleigh Road before eventually reaching the Loganholme bus station from where I travelled home.
