Well hello friends. Today is my final day in Darwin and I'm currently exploring the botanical gardens specifically going through the rainforest section at the moment. It is still early morning but it is getting very warm already for another thirty four to thirty five degree day. I'm exploring what I can and then heading back to the hotel and packing up and heading to the airport to head down to my next destination. It is another very beautiful day here in Darwin a nice fine day on the first of September so it is the first day of spring today. I see Darwin didn't get any rain at all over the entire winter but this is pretty normal as this is the peak of the dry season. Anyway I shall leave you now.

Well hello friends again. It is almost sunset and as you can see it is quite a big change of scenery from the Darwin Botanical Gardens this morning at the top end of the Northern Territory and now I'm at the top of Anzac Hill overlooking the little town of Alice Springs right in the heart of Australia. From here it is well over one thousand kilometres to any beach in any direction and a couple of thousand kilometres to the coast going east to west. The Tropic of Capricorn passes somewhere through here so along with Longreach and Rockhampton this is the third centre I've been to sitting near the tropic. Here I am almost at the bottom of the Northern Territory overlooking the town centre. The sun will be setting shortly. Looking behind me here this is the Anzac memorial mainly about the first world war, but there's a lot of info around here about all the wars this area has been involved in.

I've got to get back down the hill before it gets dark and have dinner after a long day of travelling. Thanks friends for joining me again today and I'll catch you somewhere else here in Alice Springs again tomorrow. So until then, ciao for now.
