Well good morning friends. It is quarter past two in the morning at the base of Mount Sonder aiming to get to the lookout at the top for sunrise. It is crazy early this morning so come and join with me as I do this crazy night walk up the mountain.

Well friends I've now made it up to the top of Mount Sonder. The sun is just about to rise over these magnificent mountains in this beautiful place. It was quite a walk up to get to the sunrise and quite a few people have joined us. We're up here to watch the sunrise over the horizon before starting to head back down again. This is it for the day, doing about eight hours climbing and aiming to get back by about 10:00 because the temperature is supposed to get up to about thirty four degrees today.

The sun has just risen and it is absolutely spectacular bright red. This point up here is Mount Sonder, and there's a bunch of people over there. This point marks the highlight and the end of the Larapinta Trail 231 kilometres out from Alice Springs. Over the past few days I've hiked around a quarter to a third of the track and will do a bit more tomorrow. Today I've come up the mountain and now heading back down again.

On that note, thank you friends for joining me again today and I'll catch you somewhere else on the Larapinta Trail tomorrow. So until then, ciao for now.
