Today's Journey

Setting off from the city centre, I start the day walking through the Pitt Street Mall before continuing towards Circular Cay.

Upon reaching Circular Cay, I head around the outside of the famous Sydney Opera House before following the Farm Cove foreshore around the Royal Botanical Gardens.

At the end of Farm Cove, I rest at Mrs Macquarie's Chair, named after the wife of Sydney's first governor who used to sit here looking over the harbour.

Heading into Woolloomooloo Bay, one side is lined with apartment blocks and the other side by war ships of the Australian Navy.

Heading around Potts Point, and Rushcutter Bay, I reach the end of Darling Point from where I watch one of the yachts in this year's Sydney to Hobart race warming up.

From the point I head into Double Bay exploring both beaches before going up to Point Piper where Australia's most expensive residential real estate is located.

I walk down to the long path along Rose Bay heading towards the peninula separating the harbour from the open ocean.

Following the track through Hermit Bay, the city comes into view already looking distant.

Rounding a few more headlands and crossing a few short beaches, I cross the swingbridge over Parsley Bay Beach before continuing along the path towards Watsons Bay.

I complete today's hike at the very calm and peaceful Watson's Bay, viewing the pristine water from the wharf.
