Introduction to today's journey

Today's journey takes me into Moscow in the very early morning where I explore the Ismailovo tourist park in the morning and head to Cosmonauts Land and the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in the afternoon.

Today's Journey

I awake at about 4:00 in the morning passing through suburbia, and we arrive at Moscow Station on schedule at 4:20. From here I'm taken to my hotel where I sleep for a few more hours.

After settling into my hotel I explore the nearby Kreml v Islaylovo village.

Nearby is a large market area no doubt targeted for the toursts.

After exploring the village, I find the underground metro and start exploring the city.

I reach the start of Cosmonauts Alley set up to commemorate the Soviet space era. The museum at the end of the alley has a rocket scupture commemorating the rocket which launched the Sputnik 1 satellite.

I head to the nearby All Russia Exhibition Centre, showing many of the achievements of the Soviet Union.

I return to my hotel in the early evening, one of a group of hotels which accommodate all of Moscow's tourists. There are hotels in the city centre, but these are all for business travellers.
