Introduction to today's journey

Today's journey takes me into Masai Mara wilderness area to follow the greatest animal migration on the planet and to find many types of mammal, eventually reaching the Mara River and the the border into Tanzania. Upon leaving the park we village another Maasai village.

 
 

Today's Journey

In the early morning we head across to the nearby Masai Mara Park successfully negotiating the boggy road. There are countless zebras grazing the scrubby grasslands.

Reaching the famous Mara River, where numerous hippopotomus wallow in its waters as the wildebeest migration negotiates the crossing as the most challenging part of their annual migration between here and the Serengeti in Tanzania.

A rare shot of a rhino foraging in the long grass. We were very fortunate today to have found a rhino, cheetah and leopard, all rarely seen here.
