RAIN had fallen over much of the night and was showing no signs of clearing when I awoke at first light. Heading out to the beach the ocean was quite rough from the moderate wind and very grey thanks to the thick cloud. The cape was visible but not for long as sheets of rain started falling to the north again.
I returned to the tent and spent much of the day resting apart from the occasional short walk back to the beach and around the nearby tracks when the rain did ease off. Although fairly steady, the rain was never heavy throughout the day. At one stage I did manage a walk down to the Blue Lagoon area about two kilometres away when there was a break in the rain.
Otherwise the day was quite non-eventful, just a day of rest in the quiet solitude far from the city life.
