THE SKY was still thick with cloud when I got up in the morning, but the rain had stopped falling. Not knowing what the weather was going to do today, I decided to head down to Blue Lagoon and explore the lake. I followed the exposed beach for about three kilometres before reaching the entrance to the lake.
This is a busy time of year, so it didn't surprise me to see several other people at the small beach at the lake. I continued exploring it for a while along a track through the reeds just above the waterline. The lagoon was as grey as the sky and the wind ruffled its surface unable to be sheltered from the low sandhills completely surrounding the lake.
I returned to the main beach to discover it deserted, so I rested here for a while before starting the walk back along the beach to my tent. Upon my return I discovered a vehicle load of people had set up camp over in the next campsite about fifty metres away from my tent, but for the most part I wouldn't hear or see them so fortunately they were pretty quiet as well.
By now the sun was trying to come out raising the temperature and humidity quite a bit, but during the afternoon the cloud thickened again and rain was falling again before dark.
