I DISCOVERED a trail up Mount Tiberoowuccum, having started the Trachyte Circuit and turning off along a rough four wheel drive track before reaching a firebreak that steeply ascended the hill to a rough cut trail leading to the summit ridge. I discovered another route down a trail on the other side of the hill to near the start of the Trachyte Circuit.

Unlike the other volcanic plugs of the Glasshouse Mountains, Tiberoowuccum is not often climbed and doesn't suffer the over usage of the other hills. The rocks along the summit ridge were therefore largely untouched and covered with interesting patterns of grey and yellow lichen. From the first of its two summits, a narrow trail followed the ridge between precarious vertical drops on either side.

From the ridge I had a clear view across to Mount Tibrogargan which I had climbed about two years ago. From here I could clearly see the very steep trail etched into the side of the mountain.
